Dutch icons with a touch of irony

"This project has reached a high level of satisfaction from the employees."

Says Edward van der Poll, Interior Architect @D/DOCK

A brand this iconic, needs a one-of-a-kind interior with a sense of humour. Google called on us to create a sustainable and playful design for their Amsterdam office.

The brief involved sourcing furniture items and décor that referenced Dutch culture, putting our circular consultancy expertise to the challenge.

Our team got to work hunting out, repurposing and remodelling items that became unique conversation pieces. The reception desk is built from an extra-long Dutch cargo bike (bakfiets). An authentic vintage Otten caravan, complete with picnic furniture, creates an atmospheric meeting space. Getting it up to the 15th floor was the next hurdle – we cut it in half and reassembled it upstairs. Anyone who’s visited Amsterdam will also recognise the vending machine from a fast-food chain that’s been transformed into a phone charging station.
